On August 6, 2010 U2 will return to the stage for leg three of their amazing 360 Tour. The best way to countdown to the big event is to look back at the best performances of the tour so far. This is “The Unforgettable Fire” from the June 30, 2009 show in Barcelona. I’ll post a new video everyday until the tour starts.

It’s not a big surprise that U2 are still the biggest band on the planet. I’m not sure why this author seems so bitter about it? I know the newspaper industry is in trouble, but this guy needs to lighten up.

U2 came out No. 1 on Forbes’ Top-Earning Musicians of 2010 list, earning some $130 million US between June 2009 and June 2010. Rough translation: that’s a whole lot of douchey, oversized sunglasses — and as the mag points out, most of the veteran band’s haul was made off their record-setting 360 Tour, which earned $10 million gross for every stop on their globe-trotting itinerary. via It’s Official: U2 Earn Way More Money Than Anyone.

U2 to headline Glastonbury fest

LONDON – Organizers say U2 will headline Glastonbury, Britain’s leading summer music festival.

Festival boss Michael Eavis said Monday that the Irish rockers will play the festival’s main stage June 25. It will be U2′s first appearance at the event, and comes as Glastonbury celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Eavis said he was delighted to have “the biggest band in the world” in the lineup and promised “more surprises in the pipeline.”
